Rattenberg at the Inn, approx. 60km away from Tux entfernt, is, with its approx. 440 inhabitants and 11 ha municipal surface the smallest town in Austria.
Rattenberg was first mentioned in 1254 and in 1393 the city was founded. Rattenberg is one of the few cities in Europe to have preserved the medieval architecture throughout the city and therefore offers a very quaint atmosphere.

The production of glass dates back to the 19th century. In those days some glass blowers settled nearby the mountain cabin Kramsach. Nowadays there are dozens of glass manufactures in Rattenberg which gives the town the name – Tyrol’s Glass City.
In Rattenberg you will find a number of beautiful creations of engraved glass, painted glass, crystal glass, plates, bowls etc.
Glass blowers can also be watched at work.
